Description

Venev Ursa Series Dual Side Diamonds are used for sharpening knives on Hapstone and TSPROF guided knife sharpeners, as well as for freehand sharpening. Diamond sharpening stones offer excellent performance when sharpening knives made from any steel.

Ursa Series stones are 16mm wide and double-sided, with two 1mm-thick diamond-bearing layers on an aluminum plate. Each layer contains evenly distributed diamond grains in a resin bond. Bonded diamonds are more complex to manufacture than coated diamonds, but they provide better feedback and give the sharpening stone a much longer lifespan.

The OCB version of Venev Diamonds uses a new yellow binder containing no additional abrasive particles. Available only in fine grits, the OCB binder delivers cleaner, more scratch-free sharpening results.

All Venev Diamonds use the FEPA-F grit classification. Ursa Series stones are available in six grit combinations. F80 through F240 use the legacy binder, while F400 through F1500 use the OCB binder. Ursa Series is available only in 100% diamond concentration.

How to Use

Venev Diamonds are recommended for use with water as a lubricant for the best feedback. The stones do not absorb water; simply splash water onto the surface. Dry use is also acceptable, although it causes faster wear and accelerates stone loading.

Venev Diamonds may have a flatness tolerance of up to 0.2mm. Customers may perform additional flattening and lapping to improve sharpening quality. We recommend using loose silicon carbide powder. The use of a diamond lapping plate is not recommended.

Single-sided abrasives with backing have 4 numbers: length × width × full thickness × thickness of abrasive.
Dual-sided abrasives have 5 numbers: length × width × full thickness × thickness of abrasive #1 × thickness of abrasive #2 (both sides)
If thickness is variable, the minimum thickness is noted.
For curved abrasives, a radius of curvature inmm is added: R40.
