I just received my sharpener, and I think it may have been used previously. There are a number of scratches on various parts, no instructions or documentation in the box, and most importantly it seems there is red threadlocker on the screw that attaches the stone holder to the rod. I can not for the life of me loosen the Allen head screw. I have tried holding it in a vice and using force and am afraid I will strip the head. Without loosening this I can not attach the stone holder to the rod. Otherwise it looks like a decent sharpener, with plenty of girth and abundant adjustability.
